Mad for Plaid | Holiday Party Edition

I don’t have any fancy-schmancy parties to attend this Christmas season, but if I did, you better believe I would be wearing some version of one of these plaid-tastic outfits!

Holiday Gift Guide 2013 | Christmas Eve Pajamas

I think it is so interesting how holiday traditions vary so widely from one family to another.  One family may leave out cookies and milk for Santa every Christmas Eve; one family may go Christmas caroling every season; one family may read a special holiday book before bed each December night.  A tradition that I want to start with my own family one day is Christmas Eve pajamas. On Christmas Eve night, every member of the family gets to open one special gift, and that gift is always new pajamas.

For any of you out there that already participate in this particular tradition (or want to start!), here are a few ideas:

For You: blue pajama set | grey and red pajamas | slippers (they’re sleeping bunnies!)

For Him: gray flannel pajama pants | buffalo checkered pajama pants | slippers | t-shirts

For the Little Ones: rugby stripe sleep set | Santa shark pajamas | orange slippers | pink slippers | leopard onesie | pink striped sleep set

So tell me, do you have any favorite family holiday traditions? Any you are planning to start this year?

Holiday Travel

Thanksgiving is right around the corner, and I know a lot of you will be traveling to see family and friends.  My family is in-state, so no big travel plans for me, but here are some essentials for those of you that will be traveling next week:

Holiday Travel | Mill Street

A cozy poncho is perfect for chilly airplane cabins (it doubles as a blanket!) and heavyweight leggings are a must for comfy travel without looking like you just rolled out of bed. Flat ankle boots are great for getting through security quickly and easily; and with your iPad mini, you can catch up on your favorite TV shows while waiting for your flight. And don’t forget about your skin! The Karuna Hydrating Treatment Mask is one of my very favorite treatments for when my skin needs moisture (like on long, dry flights). They are super easy to use, and you don’t even have to wash your face when you take it off–just rub in the moisturizing serum and go!

PS-I found out about the Karuna Hydrating Treatment Mask and a lot of other really cool products through BirchBox.  You should check it out!

PSS-This isn’t a sponsored post–I just really love Karuna and BirchBox!

Painting Pumpkins

Fall is here! It is finally getting cool in Georgia, which means it’s time to carve up some pumpkins! But….carving pumpkins is pretty messy business, so this year, I am going to be trying out some no-carve options, like the ones below. We already have plenty of paint around the house, and they will (hopefully!) stick around longer if we don’t carve into them.
